Frequently asked
- Do I need an account? No. Tip Arbiter works without any sign-in.
- How does a verdict work? Choose a service profile, enter the check when useful, then mark each visible service moment as Met, Missed, or Not applicable. The final screen shows the baseline and every adjustment.
- Can I change the starting percentage? Yes. Open Guide, choose Defaults, and edit the baseline for each service profile.
- How is tax handled? In Calculate, choose Before tax or After tax. The included tax amount is subtracted only when Before tax is selected.
- How do weighted splits work? Each share is a relative portion. A guest marked with the gift button owes zero and their portion is redistributed among uncovered guests by share.
- Why can two guests differ by one cent? Tip Arbiter assigns any leftover cents deterministically so the individual amounts always equal the displayed total.
- Does it work offline? Yes. Verdicts, calculations, splits, history, and JSON export run locally.
- Where is my data? Saved content stays on your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
- How do I get a refund? Purchases are handled by Apple; request refunds through Apple's Report a Problem page.
